Rockababyrock is the solo project of David “DJ” Lee who is the beatboxer/lead vocalist of the indie guitar/beatbox duo Scratch Track.   Scratch Track toured full-time for 12 years between 2003-2014.  Although currently not active, Scratch Track was a 100% self-contained, self-funded band that inspired many with their unique and minimalistic sound.  Nick Judd from the Washington Square News called Scratch Track, “mind-bending, style bending and undeniably original.”   They recorded seven albums independently toured and shared stages with the likes of the Zac Brown Band, The Roots, O.A.R, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Jurassic 5, Los Lonely Boys, Jars of Clay and numerous other national acts.   Their music appeared on CSI:NY, Sony Playstation MLB:the Show, MTV, and various independent films.

 

Along with his musical history and current musical identity,  DJ specializes in artist tour and production management, vocal coaching, songwriting, and artistic creative consulting.

 

As a diverse solo artist, he records original songs with full musical production and performs them as a “one-voice show”

using only his voice to create layers of percussion and harmonic tones for his musical backing tracks.

 

DJ is currently based in Nashville, TN.
